3 Easy Ways to Create Home-Wellness
These past few years we’ve learned to love our homes. For most of us, yes, we've always "loved" our homes, but it's next level now. Our homes are our sanctuary, our safe place, an atmosphere that needs to be therapeutic more than ever. Throughout this pandemic-journey, our homes and our health have harmoniously become of unified importance. It now feels more necessary than ever to take care of our homes as a way to support our wellbeing.
Here are three easy home-wellness essentials for creating and maintaining a healthy balanced home.
1. Add a Little Plant Power.
Houseplants are natural, cost-effective, and a therapeutic way to clean the air in your home. They are also known to increase mood and productivity. Many are minimal work to take care of, so no worries. Two of our favs are the Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) and the Snake plant (Sansevieria).
2. HEPA or the Highway.
HEPA is a type of vacuum filter that can trap microscopic particles that other vacuum cleaners would recirculate back into the air. Cleaning your home with a HEPA filter vacuum will facilitate cleaner indoor air quality while others merely rearrange the dust. We worry so much about our outdoor air quality - think about how much time we spend indoors.
3. Create a Chillout Nook.
Whether it's a space in your bedroom or a seating area in your living room, dedicate a small spot where you can steal a few moments of peace. Put your earphones on and listen to an inspiring song, write a few lines in a journal, sip a hot coffee, and be. Have your favourite books stacked, or your coziest throw styled up in your nook, or whatever invokes a chill vibe for you.
